Working for the State Emergency Service (SES) is considered prestigious and respected. Professional rescuers who are ready for challenges and able to work in extreme conditions are invited to join. Salaries are set depending on the level of workload and the complexity of the tasks performed.

What is the salary of the State Emergency Service in Ukraine, Pro Hroshi told.

What are the salaries of rescuers?

In 2023, the monthly salaries of junior and senior personnel of the State Emergency Service (SES) were increased, with specialists receiving at least 17,000 UAH. This is confirmed by job advertisements. For example, the website of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in the Dnipropetrovsk region announced vacancies for rescuers.

Working conditions vary depending on the position, but salaries start at UAH 17,000. In addition, specialists receive state benefits and guarantees, as well as the opportunity to study at departmental higher education institutions (both full-time and part-time).

According to the HR portal Work.ua, the average salary of rescuers in Ukraine is UAH 20,000. This figure is based on the analysis of one hundred vacancies containing requests for the positions of "Rescuer", "Firefighter" and others.

We should not forget about additional remuneration. During the war, junior and senior personnel of the SES are paid up to UAH 30,000 per month, which is calculated proportionally and does not depend on the place of service. Rescuers who take part in combat operations can receive up to UAH 100,000 per month, which is also calculated proportionally depending on the time spent on the mission.

Allowances in the State Emergency Service

Emergency workers receive numerous supplements to their basic salary, which can significantly affect their salary. Among them are:

  • bonuses and one-time payments;
  • bonuses for longevity or length of service;
  • allowances for mastering additional specialties;
  • additional payments for work in hazardous and remote areas;
  • rewards for special achievements.

There are also additional payments for performing duties in particularly hazardous conditions. Additional funds are earmarked for employees who are regularly exposed to risks to life and health, such as specialists in combat units.

As a reminder, Ukrainian teachers and other public sector employees will be affected by the tax changes. Their incomes are expected to fall by 3.5%.

We also wrote that Svoboda MP Oksana Savchuk said on Ranok.LIVE that Ukraine currently lacks funds for pensions and salary increases for the military. To do this, it is necessary to cut spending on law enforcement agencies.
